Our Governance
Saanich Neighbourhood Place is a federally registered not-for-profit organization with a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors. Comprised of local community members, including former and current parents and program participants, the board provides governance, guidance, and support to our organization. They are passionate about delivering quality programming and services for families, youth, and children. Together with our dynamic staff team, board members contribute valuable perspectives, skills, and knowledge to Saanich Neighbourhood Place.
Individuals who participate in the governance of Saanich Neighbourhood Place are requested to commit to serving as a general director, and on at least one committee. The time commitment is usually about 4-6 hours each month, as the full Board and each Committee usually meet once each month.
We have four positions: Chair; Vice-chair; Secretary and Treasurer which together with the Executive Director make up the Executive Committee of the Board. We also have a Finance Committee, Personnel Committee, Governance Committee, and Fundraising Committee. The Executive Director is hired by the Board of Directors to oversee all the operational activities of Saanich Neighbourhood Place.
