Governance

Saanich Neighbourhood Place is a federally registered not-for profit society. As a registered charitable organization we have a volunteer Board of Directors whose role is to provide governance, guidance,  and support to the organization's administration.  Board members  are people from our local community, former or current parents and program participants who believe in the work we do and the services we provide. They are committed to quality programming and services for families, youth and children. Together with the expertise of a dynamic staff team, our board members bring perspective, skills and knowledge to Saanich Neighbourhood Place.

Individuals who participate in the governance of Saanich Neighbourhood Place are requested to commit to serving as a general director, and on at least one committee. The time commitment is usually about 4-6 hours each month, as the full Board and each Committee usually meet once each month. We have four  positions: Chair; Vice-chair; Secretary and Treasurer which together with the Executive Director make up the Executive Committee of the Board. We also have a Finance Committee, Personnel Committee, Governance Committee, and Fundraising Committee. The Executive Director is hired by the Board of Directors to oversee all the operational activities of Saanich Neighbourhood Place.

If you are interested in participating in supporting Saanich Neighbourhood Place as a member of the Board of Directors, please contact ed@snplace.org
With gratitude, we respectfully acknowledge that we work and serve on the unceded lands of the L'kwungen speaking peoples of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. Read our detailed land acknowledgement here.
