It Takes a Village

Licensed Childcare

At Full o’ Beans Preschool and Beansprouts Infant and Toddler Care, our mission is to provide high quality, accessible early learning and care experiences in a Safe, Nurturing, Playful environment. All SNP programs provide opportunities for families to connect to each other, to existing SNP resources and to the community as a whole. Our role as an agency is to encourage, support and nurture those  connections. At Saanich Neighbourhood Place, we know that quality licensed childcare is an essential part of family life. Whether it is part-time or full-time, opportunities to for young children to interact with their peers help little people learn skills that they will take with them to Kindergarten and beyond.

Our programs are guided by our philosophy, which states:
  • We believe that all children are unique, capable individuals who do best in an environment that allows for their growth in all areas of development, including social,  emotional, cognitive/intellectual, and physical.
  • We appreciate that children come to us with experiences of family and culture that create the foundation on which  all their learning will be built.
  • Our role as educators is to provide an environment that is full of opportunities for  exploration and inquiry, that offers challenges and engages the children in their  own learning.
  • We design programs that are responsive to the children’s interests and  respectful of their need to ‘steer’ their own learning whenever possible, at the same time as we guide them towards growth.
  • We support ‘learning by doing,' and respect that while this learning will be noisy, busy, messy and chaotic at times, it is this very noisy, busy messiness that allows children to  grow and learn.

Our licensed childcare programs include Full o'Beans Preschool and Full o'Beans Full Time, and Beansprouts Infant and Toddler Care

Four children's hands inside a metal bowl filled with soapy purple water. This is another example of sensory activities we conduct at Saanich Neighbourhood Place in our licensed childcare.
