United Way Kick-off Event- 2024
On September 19th, SNP participated in the UWSVI Kick-Off 2024 event in Centennial Square, downtown. The event highlighted United Way SVI's impact on the community and announced its 2024 fundraising goal of 4 million dollars! CUPE 50 provided a BBQ lunch of burgers and hot dogs while performer Morien Jones captivated the crowd with his music.
SNP was one of several social service agencies present at the event, having the opportunity to share our work and message with attendees . We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our organization's mission with attendees. Our executive director, Jacquelin Green, gave a moving speech on the importance of our Incarcerated Dads Program, emphasizing how invaluable our partnership with United Way is for the participants in our programming.
Thank you United Way SVI for all your support!
The Pride Parade- 2024
At SNP, we prioritize supporting all our community members, recognizing the importance of 2SLGBTQIA+ representation, a cause that is deeply meaningful to us. We believe that everyone, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, should have equal opportunity to support and community services needed to thrive in our city. With this in mind, we decided to walk in the 2024 Victoria Pride Parade.
Our Pride Float theme this year was a vibrant garden reflecting our community, nurtured and cultivated to flourish in its diverse ecosystem. Like dedicated gardeners, we ensure all our diverse flowers receive the care and support they need to thrive. We had an absolute blast celebrating all forms of love at the Victoria Pride Parade and look forward to walking again next year in support of our 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

SNP and Gender Spectacular co-hosted the Family Tent at the Queer & Trans Farmers' Market, sponsored by Oaklands Sunset Market. The event featured crafts, drag story time, sidewalk chalk, and many other activities. We were thrilled to support both our local farmers and the queer community!
Pride in the Park- 2024
For the second year in a row, Saanich Neighbourhood Place proudly joined the District of Saanich for Pride in the Park. This vibrant event celebrated our 2SLGBTQIA+ community with games, activities, and delicious food. It was truly an honour to be part of such a meaningful event, and we are grateful for the invitation.
Clothing Swap- 2024
This year's SNP Clothing Swap was a resounding success! We had a great attendance at our family-friendly event, where the community came together to support sustainable fashion and SNP programs. We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated. From clothing donors to swappers and shoppers, alongside our dedicated volunteers who played a pivotal role in making this event possible. Together, we raised over $200 towards our SNP programs! A special shout-out goes to our event partners, Victoria Eco Fashion Week, as well as our clothing donation partners BVU Thrift Store and WIN. Mark your calendars for next year's event: May 24, 2025. Thank you all for your continued support!
SNP Family BBQ 2024
We're thrilled to share the highlights from our summer BBQ and Full O' Beans' 10th anniversary celebration on June 5th! It was heartwarming to see such a great turnout and support from our community. The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Jacquelin Green, Acting Executive Director, setting the stage for a fun-filled evening. Families enjoyed a delightful spread featuring hot dogs, ice cream, freezies, and more. Kids had a blast with bubbles, face painting, and chalk art, while adults took home swag and plants. We were honoured to host special guests Hon. Lana Popham, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sports, and Hon. Grace Lore, Minister of Children and Family Development, who joined us for the festivities. A heartfelt thank you to The Optimist Club of Victoria and Happy Time Food Truck for ensuring our guests enjoyed delicious food and treats throughout the event. The evening was a fantastic celebration of community and family, and we look forward to creating more memories with you all in the future.
