General Health and Safety Update
At this time, all our our programs are happening in-person, by registration, with enhanced safety protocols in place. Please check-in with program coordinators regularly or contact admin@snplace.org for the most up-to-date information.
Thank you for your understanding, and for continuing to prioritize the health and safety of our community.
Health and Safety at SNP
Saanich Neighbourhood Place (SNP) remains committed to ensuring a safe experience for everyone who visits our programs and accesses our services, and a healthy workplace for our staff members. As of September 2021, we have returned to in-person programming for all but a few of our offerings, with some modifications still in place. To maintain the health and wellness of our staff and participants, we are continuing to follow all guidelines regarding prevention practices, including extra cleaning, limiting group sizes and asking that visitors register to attend, rather than dropping in. We are excited to have families and children in our program spaces again, and continue to be vigilant in our practices to keep everyone well.
As an organization that works with or under the regulations of both Island Health and the MCFD Community Care Act, we are required to follow the most recent public health orders. In October, we were required to confirm the vaccination status of all our staff members working in programs associated with Island Health and/or MCFD, which is effectively all of us. Happily, we were able to report that there will be no interruption in our services due to the vaccination status of any of our staff members.
Saanich Neighbourhood Place services are deemed 'essential', as our work is focused on education, food security, childcare, mental health and support services. Essential services are accessible to all who need them, regardless of an individuals vaccine status. As this is the case, we are not required to verify the vaccine status of participants in our programs at this time. We encourage all who attend programs to observe the protocols in place at our location, which are aligned with PHOs. Most importantly, we ask that everyone gauge their own health and stay at home if they are unwell.
We thank you for your continued understanding and commitment to everyone's health and safety.
