Our Executive Director, Jacquelin Green was featured on CBC radio on September 25th, 2024. Radio show, On the island with Gregor Craigie, conducted a story titled, "How the parties say they'll take on the housing crisis ahead of BC's election". Take a listen, here!

Our Family Services Manager, Jacquelin Green, gave an interview to the Keeping In Touch ENewsletter that supports BC families. She talks about the Parenting Programs offered to incarcerated dads who have young families. You can view the article from here.  

The Coalition of Neighbourhood Houses Video 2023
We are a proud member of the Coalition of Neighbourhood Houses that consists of 10 different neighbourhood-based not-for-profit organizsations in the Capital Region. We offer a continuum of supports and services to children and youth, individuals, families and seniors in our communities. Check out the CNH video from below.

Community Votes Victoria 2021
We are pleased to share we have been nominated four times in the Community Votes Victoria 2021 contest for our childcare services and cooking classes. If you'd like to vote for us, please visit Community Votes Victoria and find us in the "Education, Lessons, Courses" section in the "Cooking Classes" category. You'll also find us in the "Parenting and Childcare" section in the categories of "Best Childcare Services" and "Daycare Services" as Saanich Neighbourhood Place, Beansprouts Infant and Toddler Care, and our Full o'Beans Preschool. Thank you to the folks who have nominated us. Voting closes on December 5, 2021. 

Food Security Connection Film 2021
Earlier this year the Good Food Network and the Food Literacy Working Group released the 'Food Security Connections' documentary exploring food insecurity through stories from people in our community and from individuals and organizations that are working to alleviate food insecurity through food justice efforts. We are so pleased to have collaborated on this project and you will see some of our staff and participants included in the film.

Commercial Building Award 2021
We are pleased to share that we have been nominated for our new Child and Family Services building in the annual Commercial Building Awards  designed by Iredale Architects.  Winners will be announced in November 2021 and we are grateful to everyone who contributed to this project. We recently had award-winning architectural photographer Andrew Doran in the building to take photographs for the contest. View photos here.


Saanich Approves SNP New Child & Family Centre 2021
With the support of community, our new Child & Family Services building was constructed behind Pearkes Rec Centre. The new centre offers 49 childcare spaces for local families. In June 2021, we were waiting for final approval from City Council to open our doors. Thank you to our community for their overwhelming support. You can read the article here.


Pandemic Pregnancy - Interview on CBC Radio 2021
In May 2021, our executive director Corinne Hilton was interviewed on CBC Radio about the impact of the pandemic on families. She speaks of the challenges for pre and post natal parents and how Saanich Neighbourhood Place has adapted services to continue to support the community in these uncertain times. Fundraiser: Bonnie Henry T-Shirts
In October 2020, we were grateful to receive funding from the sale of limited-edition Dr. Bonnie Henry T-Shirts that had the word 'Be Kind, Calm, Safe, Brave'. Thank you to everyone who purchased a shirt. You can read the CTV News article here. 



The Victoria Community Leadership 2019
The Victoria Community Leadership Awards celebrate the inspiring stories and successes of community leadership in Greater Victoria. For the past 15 years, businesses in our region have been recognizing the contributions of local leaders who demonstrate commitment, inspiration, encouragement, and accomplishment. Our Family Services Manager Jacquelin Green was a ‘Thriving Child and Youth Award” recipient in 2019 for her outstanding work with families in the community for more than twenty-plus years.
